Skin Boosters are a range of products that are used to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. A substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is found naturally in the body depletes as we age, so the skin becomes less taught and the texture changes causing wrinkles and fine lines to appear. Some of the products also include Peptides and Amino Acids all of which are great for skin quality!
By injecting this substance just under the surface of the skin, the natural process of collagen production is improved and the skin becomes more radiant as a result.
It takes around 28 days for the full impact of the treatment to appear. Changes begin to appear after a week or two from treatment.
Unlike some peels or other derma treatments, there is no ‘downtime’ for Skin Boosters so it’s a convenient way to enhance your skin quality. HA absorbs a much higher quantity of water than its own volume so its all about hydration to get the most out of your treatment.
The range of products means not only can you improve your facial appearance but there are neck, eye and even hand treatments available – HA really is a versatile treatment that can target the areas that bother you most!
Most people opt for one treatment every month for two or three months then have a gap of up to 6 months before the next treatment cycle – however, just one treatment can provide a delightful boost and does reduce the need for quite so much moisturiser on a daily basis.
What to expect:
The first step to any quality skin treatment is consultation – at Bridgeham we offer a free consultation with our aesthetics practitioner Selena, so you can be sure the right treatment and product is chosen for you.
Once you decide what you would like to achieve, detailed consent forms are sent to you to complete and submit. As soon as these are completed, treatment can go ahead. Your appointment time will vary according to which/how many areas you are having treated.
On the day of treatment, come to clinic without make-up or moisturisers and your skin will be cleansed with a surgical level cleanser and a topical anaesthetic applied (optional but recommended). Treatment involves fine needles delivering the product just under the uppermost layer of the skin and the treatment itself can take as little as 15 minutes – but of course, more areas will take longer. Each client has an individual treatment protocol designed to ensure the best out come achievable for them.
After the treatment you are given an information sheet to guide you on post treatment expectations and things to remember – most importantly, to drink lots of water to get the best results!
Anti-wrinkle (Botox, Bocouture, Azzalure)
Anti-wrinkle treatment with Botulinum toxin is an effective and widely used process to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is commonly called ‘Botox’ but this is only one of the products available and the treatment itself is ‘anti-wrinkle’.
The areas we currently offer are Forehead, Crow’s Feet and Glabella (known as the ‘11’ lines, between the brows). Treatments may be for one, two or three of these areas –prices vary accordingly.
There are a range of products and intensity of treatments so the finished appearance can be very subtle or more static – it depends on what you want to achieve. A personal consultation will give you all the information you need to make the most suitable choice for you.
All Botulinum toxin treatments at Bridgeham are prescribed by a fully qualified nurse only after a (free) detailed consultation – we only offer the gold standard and that means preparation, treatment plan and prescription! There are NO walk-ins for this type of treatment.
What to expect:
The first step is to book for a free consultation where you will discuss with our aesthetics practitioner Selena, exactly what you want to achieve, what is possible and which products will be right for you.
You will be asked to complete a detailed online form to ensure it is appropriate to proceed with treatment and that you understand everything you need to know about it beforehand.
Once you have submitted the consent form, we take a deposit and contact our nurse who will arrange your prescription. This is valid for up to 6 months.
On the day of treatment, you will be asked to attend without cosmetics (or they will be removed in clinic if you prefer). Your skin is treated with a surgical level cleanser and the Botox, Bocouture or Azzulure will be injected into the chosen areas.
The appointment time varies according to how many areas you are having.
You will be given a sheet to help you understand how to get the best results post-treatment.
The first signs of the treatment beginning to work will be around a week or so after treatment. Usually no follow up is required but should think you might require a top up we can book you in at two weeks for a follow up at the charge of £30 – Selena will be able to advise at two weeks whether a top up is required. Top ups cannot be administered after two weeks.
Fillers – lips, naso-labial lines & marionettes
Forget what you think you know about lip fillers and definitely forget what you’ve seen!
Lip enhancement does NOT have to look extreme – there are tiny tweaks that can make a difference that won’t scare the neighbours.
Lip fillers can add volume to very thin lips, soften lines, turn up the corners of the mouth and none of these need to look extreme.
The procedure for lips takes less time than it takes for the anaesthetic to take effect (topical lidocaine applied before treatment). Results are immediate – and they last for several months.
Modern lip fillers are safe and effective and can bead ministered at doses as low as 0.5 ml – for the most subtle effects. These days they are made from biocompatible compounds such as Hyaluronic Acid which is found naturally in the body.
It’s important to have a consultation before treatment and we offer these free of charge. Treatment itself can literally be during your lunchbreak!
The same fillers can be used to soften lines around the mouth and nose – naso-labial folds and marionette lines – again, this can be done so subtly that the effect is ‘have you been on holiday?’ rather than ‘are you ok?’– you can look more rested, reduce and soften lines to suit your age appropriately rather than looking ‘fake’. These treatments can be done alongside Botox/Bocouture anti-wrinkle treatments if you wish.
