Lindsay Taylor
Pilates Instructor
Since 2006 I have been a certified Body Control Pilates instructor. I’ve taught in London, Horsham and at the Guildford School of Acting, affiliated with the University of Surrey in Guildford, while maintaining my career as a contemporary ballet dancer and performing in the West End musical WICKED.
After giving birth to my two sons, I’ve now officially retired from performing, focusing solely on Pilates. I was introduced to Pilates after a 2003 car accident left me with severe whiplash. At the time I was pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC. With a schedule that included three dance classes daily, as well as three to four hours of rehearsal each day, I was worried I would injure myself further if I continued to study dance. So I started taking private Pilates lessons, combining classical workouts with therapeutic exercises intended to strengthen weaknesses caused by injury. I ended up graduating Marymount with honors! I have been a Body Control Pilates instructor since 2006, qualified in mat work and reformer Pilates.
I never could have completed my degree or had a successful career if it weren’t for Pilates. I passionately believe that Pilates can help everyone, whether you are an athlete, pregnant, injured or have never exercised before. I have an interest in pre and post natal Pilates, but am keen to work with anyone who wants to find the freedom of movement.
Pilates made it possible for me to follow my dream and achieve my goals, and now I am dedicated to helping others achieve theirs.
